The answer is…..floss first! Researchers have found that the most efficient way of removing dental plaque is to floss before brushing.
Why? Flossing loosens bacteria and debris from in between the teeth, then brushing and rinsing with water further clears the mouth of these particles. The primary culprit of gum disease is the bacteria in plaque. If it’s not treated, gum disease can lead to swelling, irritation, gum recession, and tooth loss.
